KREATTIV – Securing Funds for Maltese Schools and Colleges Creative Projects

Malta is arguably one of the most creative countries in the world. Almost every month there is a cultural celebration of some kind. This has allowed the population of Malta to express themselves via different artforms often delighting on the world stage.Malta makes a conscious effort to nurture and develop creativity among its population. Using a strategy of funding and mixing established international artists with locally grown talent has given rise to the island becoming a Mecca for the creative at least in Europe. This commitment has led to the development of several funding programmes run via Arts Council Malta

The Malta Art Fund: Enabling Malta’s Artists to Grow and Export

The Malta Art Fund provides financial support for Maltese artistic initiatives and to some degree art on an international scale. It is part of the Arts Council Malta and forms part of the Strategy2020 plan which focuses on five key segments to develop and promote art across the country. They are; Internationalisation Business development Research Education and training Diversity and communities The Mata Art Fund concentrates on providing financial backing in three key areas or strands. With Malta’s commitment to the arts, you could be forgiven for thinking that every project receives funding automatically.  Arts Council Malta, which includes KulturaTV, has stringent guidelines and go before a judging panel before even a penny is given to the artistic project. To their credit, the Malta Arts Council have recognised that some projects are going to slip through the cracks and as such, have set up KulturaTV to provide funding and exposure for artistic projects that are hard to visualise or simply have no access to private funding.
